YouTube Chooses COTS for Special Program!
Petaluma based COTS (Committee On The Shelterless) was one of 20 nonprofit organizations nationwide to be accepted to YouTube Next Cause: a program designed to help organizations that are already changing the world better use online video to drive action. At a one-day summit in San Francisco on April 2, selected participants will get access to everything from training in YouTube fundamentals, to promotion and community engagement tips, to one-on-one consulting sessions to grow their YouTube presence.
There were thousands of eligible organizations, and hundreds who made it through the first round, and today YouTube publicly announced 20 of the invitees who were invited to train with some of YouTube’s online video experts on how to build an online audience and turn video views into action.
YouTube has an audience of 800 million people and 4 billion views a day. That is a huge group of people waiting to be engaged and inspired. In the past successful nonprofits have raised tens of thousands of dollars in a single day from YouTube videos. You can check out COTS’ YouTube channel here.
