Kathy

Kathy is a nine-year-old living in the COTS Shared Housing Program.  She is a wonderful little girl who loves school, reading and girl scouts.  When she first arrived, she seemed to take on an adult personality, worrying about her mom, and feeling isolated from her peers.  She has since become more relaxed and has allowed herself to be a child.  We have provided support for her at school and have encouraged her to read by providing books.

She will have her mom call and let me know she wants to speak to me.  When conducting a Children’s House meeting, it is usually just the two of us because the others in the house are too young.  She shares that things are going well, she has friends, and that she is happy.  I believe that the stability and resources that COTS has provided to this child has and will continue to have a positive affect.
