COTS Economic Impact in Sonoma County

The financial consequences for business and the community to address homelessness is manageable today because COTS is here doing a great job. A recent study by Robert Eyler, Ph.D of  Economic Forensics and Analytics shows the importance of COTS to businesses in Petaluma, California.  Academic research on the homeless focuses primarily on the sociological and psychological aspects of this social issue.  Very little has been considered about how homeless present in a business district may reduce local merchants’ ability to operate and profit.  For organizations such as COTS, their ability to provide services to homeless people reduces social and economic costs of homelessness on businesses, local government, the greater community, and the homeless themselves.
