COTS Rapid Re-Housing

Rapid Re-Housing is part of a federally-funded effort to reduce homelessness across the nation. Through financial assistance and supportive services, Rapid Re-Housing assists families and individuals in becoming stably housed and financially self-sufficient.

Applications are only received during open application periods. Open application periods are posted on this webpage, please check back occasionally for changes to this status.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Literally homeless at the time of intake
  • Willing to engage in regular case management
  • Resident(s) of Sonoma County 

Application Instructions

Rapid Re-Housing offers financial assistance to those needing a one-time security deposit or short to medium-term rental assistance (which may also include a security deposit):

 

  • One-Time Security Deposit: Participants must have located a rental property already at time of application.
  • Rental Assistance: Participants do not need to have property secured at time of application.

Services Provided

  • Housing Search and Placement: Assessment of housing barriers and needs; Development of an action plan for locating housing; Outreach and negotiation with local landlords; Tenant counseling.
  • Financial Assistance: Security Deposit; Portion of Monthly Rent.
  • Housing Stabilization: Case management, which includes a budgeting and savings plan and a realistic plan to achieve self-sufficiency; On-going support of tenant/landlord relationship; Credit repair services; Employment assistance; Financial education; Linking with local, federal and state resources.
